During the exciting period of 1945 to 1954, the French Armed forces were
often forced to rely on foreign made and leased/given (or, in the case of German, Italian and Japanese weapons, captured)
weaponry.
This was mostly due to France's less-than stellar performance and
virtual isolation during World War, which, in turn, created a shortage (or non-existence) of French produced weapons
throughout much of the campaigns.
This page will shed some light of the more frequently seen foreign weaponry,
arranged by country of origin.
